Weekend Computer Camp

INTRODUCE COMPUTER BASICS

Instructional Access, Inc. created the Weekend Computer Camp as a Digital Literacy program to introduce youth participants to skills necessary to effectively use a computer at home, school, and to access community resources. The hands-on training introduces and reinforces basic technology to promote independent work, school attendance, and graduation probability. A popular option for the Weekend Computer Camp program is the delivery of a brand new laptop computer for every youth participant at the conclusion of the program. As a result, each participant becomes proficient using computer technology in everyday life to develop more effective educational, social, and community-oriented opportunities.

The Weekend Computer Camp program is designed to improve access to technology and online resources and may be implemented with the following benefits:

  • Set Up and Use a Computer, and Connect Printers or Other External Devices
  • Introduction to Google Docs®, Microsoft® Word®, Excel®, and PowerPoint®
  • Internet Safety, Computer Security, and Privacy
  • Embedded at Local School Site
  • Hands-on Learning, Training, and Support
